We’re four days into the new year…where are you?
In a previous post, I had explained how statistics show that 92% of people each year give up on their New Year’s resolutions within two weeks of declaring them. I imagine most of these resolutions are made with liquid courage streaming through their veins, or a lifetime of empty promises. However, that’s not you, is it?
We’ve already made a 4% improvement from when we started, which is great! Keep going! If you have come to find difficulty is what you are working toward, or are already hitting a wall, then, welcome to life.
“Nothing in the world is worth having or worth doing unless it means effort, pain, difficulty… I have never in my life envied a human being who led an easy life. I have envied a great many people who led difficult lives and led them well.”
Theodore Roosevelt
What in this world that is worth having is easy to you? Is your life easy or comfortable, or does it take work to do what you are doing? Many do not realize that remaining in a loop still takes work. Because we are used to it doesn’t make it easier, it makes it tolerable. Our lives are not meant to be tolerated, they are meant to be lived. So, if you want a life worth living, get out of your loop, out of your “comfort” zone, and start living.
Regardless of your situation, you are capable of so much! Your only limitation is yourself and the negative story you repeat in your mind. If you want that better body, or that beautiful new car, vacation, house, or whatever, get out there and keep grinding. When you’re tired, take a moment. When you’re hungry, get some food. When you think you’ve done enough, do more. Don’t stop. Don’t quit. Keep moving forward.
Let’s make this the year we declared! Let’s accomplish those goals we set for ourselves! Let’s do it!
If you need more encouragement, I am here for you. You got this!
Onward.
